As a long-standing partner, volunteers from the Giant Adventure Museum recently visited the Velo factory for an immersive learning experience centered around “Saddle Anatomy.” Through the disassembly of a bicycle saddle—including its rails, base shell, foam padding, and cover—participants gained a deeper understanding of the materials, functions, and engineering behind each component. By assembling the parts themselves, the volunteers uncovered the thoughtful design details hidden within a product they encounter every day.
The visit also provided a firsthand look at the complete manufacturing process, from material cutting and mold forming to hand-covering and final assembly. Amid the steady rhythm of machinery and the focused craftsmanship of factory workers, the volunteers witnessed the dedication behind every saddle and gained a deeper appreciation for Velo’s commitment to quality, responsible manufacturing, and sustainability.

As the tour concluded, one volunteer remarked with a smile, “I never realized how many details go into making a saddle comfortable.”
For Velo, education is the foundation of sustainability. By sharing knowledge and revealing the thinking behind every design decision, the company helps more people understand the value embedded in everyday products. Sustainability is no longer just an idea—it becomes something tangible, something that can be experienced, appreciated, and shared.
